A youthful couple of 86 and—she 92, wanted to share their English and Scottish heritage on their 65th wedding anniversary with four generations of descendants.

As a babe, she came to Canada swaddled in a Scottish heirloom, cradled by her parents aboard an immigrant ship in the early 1900s. He was a first generation Canadian, from a long line of English and Scottish Mason’s.

Research Highlights

There was a general interest in family research, however tidbits of information were gathered then set aside over several years. Within a year the couple were highlighting their 65th wedding anniversary. Their incentive was to leave a legacy for their descendants. They wanted a professional approach with a full report that included validity to family stories, evidentiary records, photos and maps.

The Result

Careful planning and note-taking kept Lyn aware of the genealogical objectives. With the couple's spark to ignite their dream, the report turned family clues into facts—and stories into truth. The woman’s origins spanned six generations into the 1750’s on Scottish soil, while her husband’s lineage spanned three centuries, crossing four countries on two different continents.
