Dual Citizenship
Where the Story Begins |
For personal reasons, many individuals choose the right to acquire citizenship to more than one country. Historically, it was traced through paternal lines. Today, citizenship laws for most countries are based on the “right of blood”—tracing through either parent, grandparents, multiple generations or sometimes through matrimony. In special cases, this extends to children born abroad or outside the country.

One customer's story
|
I was applying for dual-citizenship and found myself in a conundrum with most of my family deceased or estranged. I felt at a dead-end obtaining any proof of my Hungarian heritage since the village of my ancestors moved borders three times over one-century and now lies in present-day Ukraine. I had very limited information, but after consulting with Lyn and multiple phone conversations with family members, I am thankful I hired her as my genealogist.
Lyn's tenacity to tackle a challenge was unwavering. She kept me informed frequently, continuously producing results. Her responses were prompt and she was up front about the challenges we were going to meet. I enjoyed these qualities about her. After a strenuous search and long hours fielding my questions, within two months Lyn produced the documents I needed. I was shocked and amazed! It was a real pleasure working with Lyn and I highly recommend her as truly dedicated, courteous and professional genealogist. Thank you so much Lyn for all your hard work, you are truly amazing! —Riley Ogren, Alberta, Canada |
